Capital University is seeking a part-time Assistant Event Operations Technician to help facilitate and maintain daily operations and events in the Conservatory of Music, Convergent Media Center, Trinity Lutheran Seminary, and other University events. This position will assist with the set-up, execution, and tear down of technical elements for events and will report to the Facilities and Events Manager, in conjunction with the Dean of the Conservatory to coordinate optimal usage of facilities and event planning.
Responsibilities:
- Work with Performance Divisions to establish event technical needs.
- Set up and tear down events in Mees Hall, Huntington Recital Hall, and live performances within the Convergent Media Center and Trinity Seminary.
- Compile performance recording and uploads to YouTube.
- Assist with coordination of student led events including recitals/concert events.
- Schedule and coordinate student work-study event staff.
- Assist with day-to-day sound and lighting operations for daily events while also assisting with classroom/AV needs.
- Assist with day-to-day maintenance needs on production equipment within the performance areas.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with one to two years related experience and/or training.
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel software.
- Knowledge of modern digital audio and lighting consoles.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and maintaining instructions and procedural manuals.
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, and kneel for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift 50lbs of weight.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations.
- Attention to detail, strong ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work closely and professionally with others as a team including men and women from diverse backgrounds.
