The Electronic and Open Educational Resources Librarian is responsible for the activation, management, assessment and documentation of electronic resources for Blackmore and Hamma Libraries (Library Services); additionally, this position will work closely with faculty, librarians and library administrators to provide leadership with efforts promoting discovery, adoption and implementation of electronic Open Educational Resources such as open access journals and open textbooks.


In support of Library Services' Information Literacy and Library Instruction, this position will also serve as a liaison to assigned academic departments providing information literacy and library instruction in virtual and in-person classroom settings, by embedding in courses through the Learning Management System, and by developing and maintaining supplemental instructional resources such as subject guides.

The successful candidate will be able to: develop effective relationships with library staff, university colleagues, vendors, and members of OhioLINK and other consortia; manage multiple projects and priorities efficiently and effectively; and ensure that the libraries' electronic resources reflect current approaches to management, assessment, discovery, and access.

As a member of the librarian team, the Electronic and Open Educational Resources Librarian will provide search, reference, and discovery assistance through virtual services such as email and chat when scheduled.


Required Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree (M.L.I.S. or M.L.S.) from an ALA-accredited Library Science Program.
  • A history of advancing responsibilities managing and documenting library resources.
  • Knowledge of electronic resource management tools, standards and initiatives, such as SUSHI and COUNTER.
  • Working knowledge of e-resource authentication systems and proxy services.
  • Experience with an Integrated Library System.

Strongly Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with III Sierra Integrated Library System.
  • Experience developing instructional resources in a variety of formats.
  • Experience with providing in-person and virtual instruction in a classroom setting.
  • One year's work experience in a library setting.
