Capital University is seeking an Enterprise Applications Administrator of its Colleague ERP systems. This position will provide technical leadership to support Colleague ERP and integrations with external systems. Administers, manage, and maintain Colleague ERP system updates (patches) and users' access to Colleague as required by institutional roles and duties. Works in close collaboration with administrative offices on the implementation of new technologies and continuous improvement of processes and procedures to increase efficiencies and enhance services.


Responsibilities:

Analysis

  • Consults with administrators to gather information to evaluate procedures and business needs.
  • Identifies inefficiencies and works with users to agree on plans for improvement.
  • Makes suggestions based on analysis, system capabilities and available resources.

Colleague Systems Administration

  • Performs server-level installs and configuration as needed to support enterprise applications environment and its integrations with third-party solutions.
  • Installs, administers, evaluates, and works with administrative offices on the testing of Colleague software update (patches) delivered by Ellucian to fix issues and enhance functionality.
  • Provides systems administration and security duties for college wide applications.

Technical Project Lead, Support & Training

  • Develops and maintains plans outlining steps and timetables for projects related to upgrades and implementations of new products and/or functionalities.
  • Provides updates, status, and completion information to manager, and project team.
  • Interact regularly with consultants and vendors as needed.
  • Provides technical assistance by responding to inquiries from others regarding errors, problems, or questions about Colleague ERP and related Enterprise Applications.
  • Communicate resolutions via request tracking system, voice mail, e-mail, or in-person communication.
  • Trains end users or technical support staff to use a wide variety of Enterprise Applications.
  • Creates and maintains documentation that describes programs, operating procedures, and installations including but not limited to: internal knowledge base, solutions and project updates.
  • Stays abreast of any industry-wide changes and any new tools and technologies being used.
  • Attends training class and conferences. Takes part in technical user groups.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university in Computer Science or related field; minimum three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Colleague/Ellucian experience.
  • Excellent programming skills and the ability to create and maintain complex queries using SQL.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, technical documentation.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to evaluate and propose business procedures to maximize efficiencies.
