The Social Work Department of Capital University invites applications for one tenure
track position at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher. This position is a full
time appointment with an anticipated start date Aug of 2022.

Candidates must have earned a Doctorate in Social Work/Social Welfare or a related discipline with an MSW from a CSWE accredited program is required. Special consideration will be given to candidates with some experience in using innovative instructional technologies, distance, hybrid education, and curriculum development at the Master level. Candidates should have
at least two years of practice experience, strong graduate teaching skills, an
interest in the program leadership and administration, and be committed to
scholarship, symposia presentations, and university/community service. Advanced
credential/licensing or eligibility, in Social Work, is strongly preferred.


Capital University is a mid-size, comprehensive, private university whose

The academic units at Capital University include the Law School and the Unified
College. Five schools comprise the College: School of Natural Sciences, Nursing,
and Health; School of Management and Leadership; School of Social Sciences and
Education; School of Music and Art/Communication; and School of Humanities.


Capital University also offers a variety of graduate programs, including Law, Master
of Business Administration, Master of Music Education, Master of Arts in Clinical
Mental Health Counseling, Master of Arts in Education-School Counseling, and
Master of Science in Nursing.

describes (a) teaching/educational philosophy, and (b) statement about research
and grant writing experience; (2) updated curriculum vitae; (3) samples of
scholarly work; (4) three original signed letters of recommendation; and (5) names
and addresses of three references before an interview is scheduled.
