The Paralegal Program at Capital University Law School seeks adjunct instructors for its Evening and Summer Immersion courses. The program is seeking resumes for future teaching needs in all courses:

  • Introduction to Paralegal Studies (including emphasis on ethics and professional responsibility)
  • Fundamentals: Torts & Contracts
  • Business Organizations
  • Real Property
  • Civil Litigation
  • Legal Research & Writing (two semesters)
  • eDiscovery/Legal Technology
  • Probate

Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

  • Teaching and evaluating students
  • Developing course materials including practical assignments
  • Linking content to practical assignments
  • Using technology that is appropriate to specific areas of the law
  • Discussing ethics as appropriate to specific areas of the law

Required qualifications:

Candidates must be:

  • a licensed attorney with a minimum of 5 years' practice and experience working with paralegals;
  • a Juris Doctor graduate with a minimum of 5 years' of professional experience and experience working with paralegals; or
  • a paralegal with
    1. a master's degree and a minimum of 7 years' paralegal experience; or
    2. a bachelor's degree plus post-baccalaureate certificate from ABA-approved paralegal program and a minimum of 7 years' paralegal experience.

Previous university teaching experience is preferred.
